(As of 8-28)

Probably will post new pics every day or two. It will be going together really quickly, well at least on good days. The idea is to have the rig done for supercrawl in mid october and ideally Mike wants a little time to spare for testing it before hand I assume. This is 2-3 nights worth of work, 1-2 being planning before we had tube.

These two pictures suck because I had my camera set on manual focus but I didn't remember. Some stuff is not permanat at all like everything in front of the motor. That crossmember is just a spacer to hold the 2 long frame rails in place for everything else. Length of the tail also will change.

Edit (new pictures as of 8-30)

Edit (new pics as of 9-1)
Shock hoops we got on yesterday and a decent amount of progress today

First side tube on

Both side tubes in

View from the back. That middle spacer won't stay there its just to hold it in place. It will hctually have the X bracing through there. Also in general it won't look much like that for long once we get more tube on there and a cage part in.

Edit (New as of 9-4)
Well along with pic updates on the buggy, I alomst have to give you a tour of the garage since its completely different with all kinds of cool stuff.

Notice the shear and break in the background
Image
Looks a little goofy from the side with no hood or anythign on the front yet. Notice the relativly low drivetrain.

Seat mounts

Edit (as of 9-6)

Old hood is on just for fun, and looks.

List of things done today:
Top V above head
B pillars
Diagonal brace behind seats, probably will end up an X but just half for now.
Center windshiled tube
Diagonal V braces by the side of the seats, and by drivers feet.
more seat mount stuff
link mounts mostly ready
Lots welded up now

Edit (as of 9-6)
Not too much real noticeable stuff today, but there was quite a bit done

Finished X behind seats
more braces on passenger side
Fornt stinger
3/4s of the fuel cell mounting
Some winch mounting (though might have to be messed with some more)
All the old link/shock/swaybar mounts on the axles that won't work with the new setup were cut off.
Front links shortened
Rear shock mount tabs made up

Thats all I can think of offhand

Buit that one last winter. Wants to add some improvments and its not holding up to rolls that great. Has a few dented tubes. So he is going a little thicker wall on some. I think it has been his plan to build a new one for next year all along anyway though.

Yeah most have it down low like that or pretty similar for the msot part. It was behind the Atlas on teh old rig so it was down that low before too.

I wish I had updated pictures but my camera was dead. Motor is bolted in, 3 new crossmembers under the tranny and T-case, two more crossmembers from the passenger frame rail to the wing looking part, rear axle is under it, lower links are semi bolted in. Mike is kicking ass on it.

If you consider "action" sliding the the chasis out of the garage to sweep around it once or twice a year, then yes. :alumcj:
