This is a race car / street rod / home built / bad ass Go Cart from Hell. I dont know all of the history with this but from what I understand it was orginally built by someone that worked at Hendrick Motorsports. It was then purchased by a friend of mine that also worked at H M and then I bought it from him. Unfortunately my friend died of cancer a couple of years back so I cant ask him very easily. It hasnt really even been touched since the original guy that started building it owned it. It is 100% TIG welded and I am told that it is chromoly tube but I dont know for sure. It is covered with surface rust and needs to be sand blasted. It has never been completed. It has a Corvair flat 6 motor with a Jaguar(?) trans axle, pinto or (mustang?) rack and pinion steering. Thats what I have been told, but I bet someone on here knows these details for sure. The motor condition is unknown and I was told the trans axle and shifted all worked. It looks like it does to me. I have most of the rest of the parts to make this a complete roller. I have the adjustable coil over shocks, lexan wind shield, carbs, exhaust headers, brake peddles and MC, most of the brake calipers (I lost one or two trailering it home !@#$%&), clutches and some other parts and pieces. The tires have zero miles on them but are probably 15 years old, but dont show any dry rot. I believe the wheels are magnesium. This thing is going to make for an extremely fun toy once it is completed. I planned on finishing it and making it street legal, but mostly use it for open track days or something. Most of the suspension is adjustable and would be a fun car to tune on. Metal floor boards and a fiber glass body. I have already driven this car many miles in my head and dreams and it handles like a Ferarri wishes it could. I dont want to sell it because it was my good friends, but my money tree died and he would understand.

The engine/transmission/differential are genuine factory GM Corvair parts, with the tranny and diff flipped upside down for reverse rotation. You can tell by the drain plug on top of the transmission at the very back of the unit. Its still a cool setup.

Does the engine turn over freely? Its missing a bunch of parts to make it run-able. Does it come with 2 or 4 carbs? That would tell what kind of HP the engine was rated from factory. The IRS setup is from a '69 corvair, and the outer bearings and stub/hub/driveshafts are factory length. If the shifter rows through the gears smoothly, thats half the battle.

I have most of the parts to make it runnable. 4 carbs, need to get the turbo! I am sure the motor needs to be rebuilt. Havent tried spinning it in a long time.

I have to agree that the thing is plain bad ass. I would love to have it sitting in my garage. I would hate to see the thing go to waste.

Want to sell me the rims/tires?

I am pretty sure the shifter works fine. It has been in neutral for the last 10 years that I have owned it. I have accidentally put it in gear before, but never tried shifting thru them all or checking it. I really would love to finish this thing, but I havent touched it in 10 years and probably wont for the next 10. Its kind of in my way and a shame that it isnt out tearing up the streets.

Interesting concept. Need cash but would consider trade for cheap but with potential rig.

It's pretty cool. If the tubing material ever becomes an issue you can drag it to Brighton & I can check it for you.

Classified rules state that all classifieds must be VW vehicles or parts. :rocket:

Sold a while ago. Sarry for not obeying the rules in a prompt manner.
