bob the box , spend your time narrowing the front, trust me.. after running narrow body rigs then jumping back into a full size the first thing that happened was I wedged it between 2 "fixed objects" and tore the fenders free from the core supprort. Then I narrowed it, and it made a HUGE difference to I could snake the truck.

I would agree with the cage. I would build the cage, but build it so you can still put side skins on it.

Oh, and I'm only 10 minutes away. Call before befre you almost kill yourself unloading a 8' box.... not because I want to help... but becuase I want to watch you do it in person.

Build something like this, that can be skinned for a clean look. minus the giant lights and the bars for the interior cage, unless you wanna make a bamf pre runner! :thumb:

Unfortunatly, no. Mikes party Fri night. A family event Sat day, and another party Sat night in Lansing that I wont be home from until midday Sun.

I cleaned up and painted the 14 bolt last night. I pulled the carrier to weld the spiders. I'm hoping to put the housing back under the truck tonight to set the pinion angle and tack my new spring pads. If that goes well before dark I will pull the housing back into the garage to burn those in and bend some new brake lines. Stop by tonight if your bored.

Thanks Erin, start a thread with your ideas.

Ok, here she is without the 3" rear block. I like it a lot better. The pinion angle is set and the new perches are welded on. I need to make upper shock mounts, shorten my driveshaft and re-route my exhaust a little bit and then I can start on the bed. I have new calipers and hoses so that will go fast. As the second pic shows..... my tire is within 1/4" of the spring on the front side. I knew I would need some spacers for the front, I guess I need them for the rear too. Belly remains at 27", wheelbase at 137". The carrier is on the workbench waiting for me to weld it up. Its starting to come together.

If I use the outside edge of my fender flares as the cut line, it should look like this......

Why arent you cutting off the extra frame behind the rear spring mounts? Get rid of that extra usless metal. You need to make that thing look unuique anyways

there is a lot of tube in that thing.......

you probably dont need to go that overboard but the overall idea for the cage would be sweet! totalling the truck just to make a cage somehow doesnt sit well with me
