Grey=1.75x.120
red=1.75x.156
blue=1.75x.095
orange=1.0x.095

chassis width is 50" to the center of the tubes
wheelbase is 105"
width is 78"
it is set up for 6-7" of compression from where you see it.

tires are 37's

and the end goal is to be able to rearrange some things and get a back bench seat in it at some point.

do you actually think think the .095 is gonna save you enough weight to worry about it, i would just make it from .120 and be done.

Donelle thinks the back corner doesn't have enough triangulation (that is exactly what she said), and I agree.

off the top of my head I think the difference was about .5 lbs per foot

im going to up the wall on the a pillar to roof bar.

I thought about triangulation back there but i dont think it'll do anything really, the area is so small its hard to put something in there without it looking cluttered. I'll probably do some stress analysis to see what the suv style rear does compared to the angled styles.

i'd say ditch the .095 tube, and replace the 1" tube with 1.5" because 1" is small looking :flipoff:

what program did you use?

as for the back i think its fine. you have the "X" factor in there already. I had this same problem with my "suv" style rear bars. it looks dumb any which way you try to add bracing to it. looks cluttered.

so your taking like 5 pounds for the whole chassis whats the point. unless your running space age kevlar knuckles and carbon fiber tires i dont think its worth it.

If I can save 5 lbs in 20 different spots on the rig then that is pretty significant. If I were running carbon fiber tires I would make the rig out of titanium :flipoff:

however in a chassis it isnt about saving weight as much as it is making tubes that will take impacts strong enough and the ones that wont take the impacts just structurally strong enough.

find it yet?

I'll help you out, its a mix of styles between rusty bray's, a twisted customs and the diablo 3. its really hard to design something effecient without it looking like something else out there.

i would not run .095 on any thing that is not protected by another tube (roof cross bars, side) there gonna dent. also i think you need to run the same cross bars you have in the front half of the upper cage as the rear so it doesnt fold over.
