went spring under axle on 1.5 re yj springs all on the 40 inch tires :flipoff:

measurements as follows
frame height 21.5 inches
skid 18.5 gonna do a belly up
rocker 26 inches
top of cage 76

it may come down a bit still as its sitting on jack stands under the leafs and the tires are just barely touching the ground.

SUA FTW!!!

pics are at ride height or just above, tires are sitting about 1/4 inch off the ground so that and tire squish would make it sit a little lower.

Yeah, I got that. :alumcj: :P It just looks like when stuffing one tire that tire would rub. Just trying to figure it out.

hoser, you haven't shown any pics from the front or rear since going sua. Let's take a look.

RE; soa/sua........ I thing my son in law's sua flexed better than my soa.

The only downside to the sua is the risk of hanging the u-bolts & plate onto an obstacle. With 40" tires I don't see that being a huge issue.

The other up side to the sua is that you shouldn't need an antiwrap bar which definitely affects articulation.

Why is it that all the sudden you want to wheel with everyone wearing diapers? Mounds mud stinks enough, I couldn't imagine it with adult urine, and a big steamy load in your Grampers.

Exactly. Leaf springs and spring under rules. You can get fancy U bolts that have the threaded ends pointed up, minimising the bad part of spring under. I like it, now all you need is REVOLVERS!!!

Spring under, much less hassle. You aren't too good at drivetrain setup anyhow, and you are going to sell it after a trip to the dunes with it.

You should post some pictures of your set up, I'm sure there is a way to make it work. People were running lifted SUA suspensions for years before Hydraulic steering was the 'in thing'.

Sell your 1.5" lift springs and buy some 4" packs.

I have an astro van box here with hoses you can try for fittment, and I have another saginaw 600 style box, with a funky steering arm configuration, I don't know what it originally comes from, but they were stolen from Steering Gear before Delphi took em over, you can check that out too.
