The 14 bolt under my truck and the C&C axle I robbed some gears out of both had ring gear bolts run down without lock washers. Are you sure you should have them? Do you have enough thread engagment?

making some tube doors for the yota for side protection in a roll and to keep some mud/dirt off. heres what i got done yesterday. next week ill be making the latch system and skinning them. I used 1 5/8 dom for the structural part that might actually keep a rock from killing me in a side roll. and for cosmetics i ran the bottom side with 1 1/4 hrew to keep it tight to the rig and be able to skin the whole door.

no pics to add yet. but i decided i wanted a little lower 1st gear. so i thought a quick trans swap from a 350 to a 700r would be nice. well now its snowballed. the adapter is different so i have to make a new xmember.
then the exhaust didnt clear so i orderd some headers and tubing to remake that. got the headers today and now the orbital doesnt clear the headers.
and lets not forget front driveshaft doesnt clear now and the shifter is going to have to get hillbilly modified for the 4th gear or im gonna need a new shifter. ill post any pics worth posting when i take some. mostly boring stuff but taking forever to get back together.

rant off

A 50 shot would have cleared up the need for a lower first, and everything else could have stayed the same......

winter mods are complete. went with the 700r4. new exhaust, new winters shifter. new fuel cell, cd player with marine speakers, finished the tube doors. still need to change to paddle handle latches but these handles work for now. and my favorite new part is the soft top.

Wow Nick, that things lloking pretty damn cool! Top and console look sweet.

Jeep doors use the same pivot pins, but the door latch holds the door from sagging, and stressing the pins........ What holds the door frame, and therefore keeps the pressure off the pins?
