Nice frame brackets. Are those something you made up, or bought from somebody? If bought, from who?

Yup, damn near every bracket is from poly. The rear 4-link brackets are about $225, and WAY worth it. I know the geometry wont be the best, but its so simple and easy I couldnt pass them up.

side note...
motor mounts are in as of today. Motor, trans and t-case should be in by the end of the weekend. Still waiting for my links to come back from the machine shop, and then its on to the real fun... wireing

so....... aside from cutting the hell out of the tub how would you get "better" geometry?

Have you cycled the suspension?

If you were to bother running the numbers through the calc, I'd bet you'd be surprised.

My rear links are setup similarly with both the uppers and lowers on the inside of the frame rail. I have a relatively flat roll axis and since they give you the multiple holes on that upper link mount, you should be able to tune the antisquat in the rear how you'd like it.

Bryce,
the only issue that I have with the frame side link mounts is that the upper and lower links do not cross, the upper directly above the lower. With the lower links being 10* and the uppers being about 30*, this makes the lower links about 6" shorter (with the axle side lower brackets) than the uppers. It will have rear steer, no doubt.

John,
Nope, have yet to cycle the suspension. The rear lower links that are on now are just temps that I thru together when I was bored in the garage. when my real links get done, Ill be able to make it roll and cycle the suspension. To be honest, Ive got more than I initially wanted invested in this project and dont care what it works like, Ill make it happen down the road.

The length of the links from above doesnt have the same effect as if it were viewed from the side.

I will be using the same brackets on whiterhino's yj this winter. I'll post the numbers once I get it figured out.... It'll be within 1 degree of a flat roll axis. :poke:

Okay, so why are we internet fighting about this?

My only other issue with the rear brackets is that, on a TJ, with a factory or in my case belly-up skid, You cant push them forward enough to get a 36" link in there. Im sure it can be done, but Im lazy and have enough shit to concentrate on, so I just put things where they fit.

all things are good otherwise.

Yeah, what he said.

All the cool kids are runninmg 52" flexable links withe the axle mounted halfway down them. Its the latest craze.

Not set on 36" links. Just seams to be a good length to shoot for. Infact, none of my links are 36". between the motor/trans/case, stock frame, and axles, you just have to put shit where it fits... do your best to set up the suspension and hope it works.
