trying to determing if my axle has been cut down or not, (C's are welded up, not factory style) right now its all disassembled, anyone got a measurement from king pin to king pin??

or shaft lengths..

second question, its pass offset, yet the outer knuckles have five studs (ford?) and outer shafts are 35 spline...

sounds like you got the bastard axle that someone pieced together after putting the stronger chevy knuckles on a ford housing and you got left with the the chevy center and ford outers.... assuming it is a low pinion that you have....

it depends on how your steering is setup really. 80% of people running those axles never have a problem with the knuckles.

lots of things will come into play but if you NEED all of the added strength of a 60 over a 44 then you might break a knuckle, if not then you'll probably be fine.

I hope you got a smoking deal on that axle!

lemme guess you bought the one off greatlakes, has 4.88's and a ARB?

If so as he told me, it had ford knuckles/outers, chevy housing. SOmewhere on pirate in the dana 60 bible should tell ya shaft lengths.

If your trying to identify it why not scrape the axle tube and look for a BOM number and check out also in the dana 60 bible.
