14bolt narrowing questions

does anyone have pics of how they narrowed there 14bolt, im just tryin to figure out were i should do my cut. im going to use 2 short side shafts which should bring it down to about 63wms its at 67wms right now

I don't have pics, but I would do the following:

Take both axle shafts out of the rear end. Measure the length of the short side inner shaft, and measure the length of the long side. Take the difference in lengths, and cut the housing that difference in length from the weld center where the end flange welds to the housing. Take the short peice of housing you cut off, and grind the end flange off of the stub you cut loose. Take a flap wheel and go around the inside of the tube where you cut the rear end housing, and stick the end flange you just freed from the extra housing length you just cut off. Level the axle housing, and line up the holes for the bolt on parts (spindles, etc.) and level the end flange top to bottom. "Vee" grind the new weld joint, and weld the end back to the housing. Take a bow, you're done.
